Signs could go up soon in Lula identifying areas where the northeast Hall County city is having problems with stray animals.
Lula City Council voted Monday night to install signs asking people to “report dogs or cats which are running loose or not restrained.”
The council also decided put up signs only in English. Officials had talked about signs in Spanish, but City Manager Dennis Bergin said the city’s Hispanic population is about 1.5 percent.
The issue was spurred by a discussion at the council’s January meeting about stray dogs and ways to strengthen animal control laws.
