Logging truck overturns on Ga. 400 in Dawson County
Driver taken to local hospital
A logging truck overturned at Dawson Forest Road and Ga. 400 this afternoon, temporarily closing lanes of Ga. 400. The driver of the truck, whose name has not been released, was taken to a local hospital.

A portion of Ga. 400 at Dawson Forest Road in Dawson County was shut down this afternoon after a logging truck overturned at the intersection.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, whose name has not been released, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for what emergency workers described as lacerations to his head.

No other cars were involved in the incident.

Both northbound lanes on Ga. 400 were closed for about 30 minutes while Dawson County deputies and a Georgia State Patrol trooper investigated the wreck.

One lane reopened shortly before 3 p.m.

According to witnesses on the scene, the load of logs appeared to have shifted as the driver turned right on Ga. 400 from Dawson Forest Road.
