Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden and 4-year-old Daliyah Marie Arana of Gainesville read a book at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, this week. Daliyah was invited to the library after reading more than 1,000 books.
Before she reached kindergarten, Daliyah Marie Arana read 1,000 books. Hitting that milestone was just one step toward reaching the 4-year-old’s dream of becoming a librarian, even for just a day. “She came up with the idea,” her father Miguel Arana told The Times in October.
