Little Ridge Park in Forsyth County will be closed Monday through Nov. 30 for tree removal, paving and pavement striping.
While the park is closed, visitors can use the boat ramp at East Bank Park, about 3 miles east of Little Ridge. Those wanting to use a dog-walking area can go to Gary Pirkle Park, about 5 miles east of Little Ridge, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Little Ridge, as well as other corps recreation areas, is officially closed because of the federal shutdown that’s been in place since Oct. 1.
However, "there is no gate and we have placed no barriers, so technically people are still using the park," said Lisa Parker, spokeswoman for the corps’ Mobile (Ala.) District, which governs Lanier.
