A White County jury will resume deliberations today in the case of a Cleveland man charged with murdering his estranged wife.

The jury has deliberated for nine hours over two days in the case of 22-year-old Jonathan Hart, charged in the July 2008 fatal shooting of White County 911 operator Stephanie Hart.

The trial has lasted nearly two weeks.

Authorities say Hart fled the state after the shooting and was arrested after he was found walking along the side of a highway in Louisiana.

The defense has tried to portray the shooting as an accident. Prosecutors said the shooting was intentional after Stephanie Hart went to her husband’s home with divorce papers.

The jury continues deliberations at the White County Courthouse at 9 a.m. today.
