A Jackson County School System assistant superintendent has been named the new principal of Chicopee Woods Elementary School. Jamie Hitzges, assistant superintendent of finance and operations in Jackson County since 2012, was selected by the Hall County school board meeting Monday night. He replaces Lindsey Chatham, who resigned to take a position in the Clarke County School District closer to her home.
