A modular show home will be in the hands of Family Promise of Hall County, and ready to serve as a transitional shelter for homeless parents and children moving from the streets to self-reliance, after its appearance at an international event in Florida this January. The Spring Street House, as it will be known, is a godsend and couldn’t be timelier, said Family Promise Executive Director Lindsey McCamy. The organization already owns a property on Spring Street, in the New Holland area of Gainesville, where the home will be located, but an existing structure on the site is termite-infested and extremely costly to renovate, McCamy said.
