Mamie Coker was named Georgia’s 2017 School Nurse Administrator of the Year by the Georgia Association of School Nurses at the annual educational conference June 12 in Savannah.
Coker has 33 years of nursing experience and has been the health systems coordinator for Hall County schools for 23 years.
Before coming to the school district, she worked at Egleston Hospital in pediatrics, Grady Memorial Hospital in intensive care and then switched to public health. She worked in multiple counties before coming to the Hall County Health Department and then the schools.
She supervises 35 licensed nurses and coordinates health-related services for special education, hospital homebound and the AED/CPR program for students in the district.
Coker received her bachelor’s of nursing from Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing in Athens.
