Hall firefighters battling several outdoor blazes

Hall County Fire Services with support from the Georgia Forestry Commission are battling several open air fires, said Chief David Kimbrell.

A 1-acre blaze outside a residence on Quincy Drive in South Hall County as well as an 8-acre fire of Price and Will Wallace roads in North Hall County were among those active around 3 p.m.

Kimbrell reported no injuries and no damage to structures.

He reminded citizens to pay attention to rules concerning controlled burns: Secure a permit; have a garden hose nearby; be done by dark; and monitor your fire at all times, he said.

"Just being away from it that couple minutes, it will get out of hand," Kimbrell said.
