Divers from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office helped search a pond in Barrow County on Tuesday for evidence in the shooting of two Auburn residents Nov. 15.

The dive team was called to a pond located behind Parks Mill Apartments, according to Auburn Police Chief Fred Brown. That’s where an Auburn woman was shot seven times and her boyfriend shot once in the abdomen while they slept in their apartment.

Both victims underwent surgery at Gwinnett Medical Center and are expected to fully recover. The woman, 35, remains hospitalized while the male victim has been released, police said.

Casings from a .25-caliber pistol were discovered behind the apartment below the air conditioning unit. There also were a number of bullet holes found, police said.

No one has been charged in the shootings.

"There are not enough hard facts right now to identify anyone as a suspect. We are asking the public for help," Brown said.

Auburn police are asking anyone who has information in the case to contact them at 770-963-4002.
