Lisa Ritchie has been hired as the new clerk for the Hall County Board of Commissioners.
The former Habersham County clerk will begin work Monday.
“I’m excited about this opportunity with Hall County,” Ritchie said in a statement, “and I look forward to working with the Board of Commissioners, as well as the citizens of Hall County.”
Ritchie replaces Melissa McCain, who accepted a city clerk’s position in Flowery Branch in January.
The commission clerk prepares the agenda and minutes for the Board of Commissioners meetings, maintains permanent county records, and serves as an intermediary with the public, other elected officials and county departments.
Ritchie most recently worked as a customer service representative for Freudenburg Nok in Cleveland. In addition to serving as clerk for Habersham County, she also previously worked as an accounts payable specialist, human resources clerk and payroll clerk for Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland.
Ritchie holds an associate’s degree in applied science from Gainesville State College and was certified as a county clerk by the University of Georgia in 2012.
“Lisa has a strong background serving as a commission clerk for county government and comes highly recommended,” Hall County Administrator Randy Knighton said in a statement. “She will be a valuable addition to our staff.”
