A Hall County bus driver collided with a pickup truck Monday morning at Sardis Road and Dawsonville Highway.

Jason Hornor, 39, of Gainesville hit a Nissan pickup truck with a Hall County bus on the truck’s left side, said Georgia State Patrol spokesman Sgt. Anthony Coleman. The call came in shortly after 10 a.m., and no children were on board, he said.

The passenger in the truck, Helen Wilkes, 68, of Athens had minor injuries but was not transported for medical treatment, Coleman said.

Hornor and the driver of the truck, William Loughner, 71, of Athens, were uninjured, Coleman said.

Because of a faulty traffic light, Hornor was issued a warning.

Jewel Armour, Hall County Schools executive director of operations in transportation, said there will be a subsequent investigation.

“After any wrecks, we try to evaluate and see if there are things we could have done differently,” he said.
