A moratorium on new business licenses for short-term vacation rentals was approved by the Hall County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday.
The moratorium was introduced by Commissioner Scott Gibbs, who has said previously that the county needs more regulation of vacation rentals, and approved unanimously at the end of a two-hour voting meeting.
Commissioners directed staff to halt the issuance of any businesses licenses for short-term rentals until March 31. In the meantime, county staff will perform a “full review” of local regulations of vacation rentals and recommend changes by Feb. 12.
