A man nearly drowned Sunday evening in the swimming pool at Morgan’s Crossing subdivision, which is split between Gwinnett and Hall counties.

Upon arrival at 5:18 p.m., Gwinnett firefighters found a man in his 40s who was breathing but not conscious or alert.

Bystanders had pulled him from the subdivision pool, said Capt. Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.

The man was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

He "was conscious and alert by the time paramedics had arrived at the hospital," Rutledge said.
