GBI: Suspect shot, killed while trying to pull knives on Braselton Police officer

A man suspected of kidnapping was shot by an officer after the suspect reportedly tried to pull knives from his pockets, according to authorities.

Braselton Police tracked Aigon Andrew Wallace, 25, around 2:58 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, to a Kroger parking lot in Loganville. Wallace was wanted by police on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated stalking.

“When officers made contact with Wallace, he attempted to flee and resisted arrest. An officer tackled him and during the altercation, Wallace attempted to draw two knives from his pockets,” according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

One officer fired his weapon and struck Wallace, who died from his wound at Gwinnett Medical Center.

No officers were injured, and two knives were found at the scene.

The GBI is investigating, and it will be turned over to the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office for review.
