Gainesville's adult club loses alcohol license

The Top of Gainesville adult strip club has had its alcohol license suspended following a complaint that it was not serving food for a period of time.

City Marshal Debbie Jones told The Times an administrative hearing was held Oct. 23 and that the license was suspended for the remainder of the year.

It is unclear if Top of Gainesville will appeal the ruling. Calls for comment Friday were not returned.

If an appeal is made, the City Council would then vote on the matter.

Jones said a new license application will have to be filed and approved before the adult entertainment venue can serve alcohol again.
