Gainesville City Schools students will be in class an extra day next month to replace time missed due to snow and ice. The April 4 date is the Friday before students and teachers get a week off for spring break, and was previously on the calendar as a vacation day. Superintendent Merrianne Dyer said students or employees with previous travel plans would not be penalized.
