Gainesville hadn’t received any bid responses as of midday Friday on a feasibility study the city wants for a convention center and hotel, but an official said that’s not uncommon. Sealed proposals from interested consulting firms are scheduled for public opening at 2 p.m. today. The request for proposals was open to any interested company, Assistant City Manager Angela Sheppard said.
