Gainesville Police have identified the body recovered Wednesday morning from Lake Lanier.

Shontell Credit, 42, of Gainesville, was pulled from Lake Lanier at Longwood Park in Gainesville. Police said someone spotted the body and called authorities around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities do not suspect foul play.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation performed the autopsy which indicated “the cause of death as drowning,” Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said.
