A proposal for a 75-acre mixed-use development on Limestone Parkway has been tabled until next month by the Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board.

The proposal includes up to 189,400 square feet of office, retail, restaurant and hotel space, in addition to 252 multifamily apartments and 33 single-family homes. The currently vacant spot is located north of Beverly Road near Gainesville Middle School and Lakeview Academy.

The applicant, Limestone Greenway LLC, asked to table the annexation request to the June 12 planning board meeting, Gainesville planning manager Matt Tate said. The board voted in favor of tabling the request.

Board Chairman Doug Carter also introduced new board member Kelvin Simmons at Tuesday’s meeting. Simmons previously served on the Gainesville City Board of Education for 19 years.
