A Gainesville man died after a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning in North Hall, according to authorities. James H. Huff, 71, was driving a 2010 Toyota Camry around 7:24 a.m. Thursday northbound on Ga. 52/Dahlonega Highway near Ga. 283/Clermont Highway. Georgia State Patrol said Huff was negotiating a curve when he failed to maintain his lane and traveled off the roadway. “(The car) traveled through a field and into a creek,” Cpl. Nick Jenkins wrote in an email. “(The car) struck an embankment with (its) front.”
