The Gainesville City Council met Tuesday to appoint members to several advisory committees, boards and commissions. Jimmy Nivens and Alvin Kemp Jr. were reappointed to the Airport Advisory Committee; Joe Turner, A.J. Kiker and Ed Pledger were reappointed to the Chattahoochee Golf Course Advisory Committee; Emily Lawson was reappointed to the Chicopee Woods Area Park Commission; Emory Turner was appointed to a first term on the Gainesville Nonprofit Development Foundation; Doug Carter was reappointed to the Gainesville Redevelopment Authority; and Darryl Smallwood was reappointed to the Housing Authority. City Council next meets at 5:30 p.m. March 18 at the Public Safety Complex, 701 Queen City Parkway.
