Consultants working on plans to build a $6.7 million youth sport complex in Gainesville continue to analyze soil tests at the proposed site after initial drilling hit solid rock.
A report with recommendations on how to proceed with the project should be ready for review “in the near future,” Gainesville Parks and Recreation Director Melvin Cooper said last week.
The youth sports complex is one of 12 projects in the city being funded with revenue from a special purpose local option sales tax approved by voters in 2015.
