When Samantha Pearson of Flowery Branch went on vacation with family in Los Angeles, her grandmother made a special request — she wanted to be on a game show.
“My grandmother has always wanted to go on ‘The Price is Right,’ and we couldn’t get tickets,” Pearson said.
Instead, they were offered tickets to “Let’s Make a Deal.”
This morning, she, and viewers across the country, will get to watch her performance.
Pearson, a student at Gwinnett Technical School, knew she’d need a costume. The show is known for its wackily dressed-up audience.
Contestants are then selected from that audience to make deals with the host, Wayne Brady, for cash and prizes.
Pearson enlisted the help of her aunt, a makeup artist, to dress her up like her material girl alter ego, Madonna.
After standing in line with other game show hopefuls, Pearson didn’t expect to be chosen as a contestant.
“They started the music and then I was the first one picked, so I was pretty excited and shocked at the same time because we just thought we were going to see the show,” she said.
Pearson couldn’t say much about how she fared, but the show airs at 10 a.m. today on WGCL, channel 46.
