Jackson County voters approved a special purpose local option sales tax Tuesday.

Fifty-seven percent said yes to the 1 percent tax that will provide funds to pay off debt on the Jackson County Jail, build facilities to house emergency responder equipment and for a variety of road and recreation projects.
