Beginning July 15, all visitors to University System of Georgia campuses must wear face masks.

All faculty, staff, students and visitors must wear an appropriate face covering while inside campus facilities/buildings where six feet social distancing may not always be possible. The University of North Georgia will provide cloth face coverings for all students and employees, according to UNG spokesperson Sylvia Carson.

USG announced on its website that face covering use will be in addition to, and is not a substitute for, social distancing.

“Face coverings are not required in one’s own dorm room or suite, when alone in an enclosed office or study room, or in campus outdoor settings where social distancing requirements are met,” according to the announcement.

Anyone not using a face covering when required will be asked to wear one or leave. Repeated refusal to comply may result in disciplinary measures.

Brenau University will also be requiring masks in addition to social distancing “as part of a culture of prevention of the spread of COVID-19" according to spokesperson AJ Reynolds.
