High schoolers will descend upon the Brenau University Downtown Center in Gainesville on Monday night to get their first taste of college life.
More than 69 universities and colleges from Georgia and other states will set up booths during the free Probe College Tour, welcoming high schoolers to meet college representatives, ask questions and leave with information about admissions and financial aid.
The event will be 6-8 p.m. Oct. 21.

“What we really hope for students is that they’re able to make a connection with a representative and go on to find a school that they weren’t anticipating, or go and schedule an on-campus visit,” Erin Wolf, media relations for Probe College Tour, said.
She encourages students to think about the major they want to pursue before coming to the college tour and to not be afraid of asking the college representatives about tuition and financial aid.
“It’s very important for them to ask about campus life like extracurriculars, intramural sports and things that might help them connect with the culture of the campus,” Wolf said.
Although juniors and seniors in high school typically attend the event, Wolf said freshmen and sophomores also benefit from going.
The Probe College Tour will travel to Georgia cities until mid-November. For a schedule of the tour’s upcoming event locations, visit gaprobe.org/probe-tour-calendar.
