Three Gainesville men were among nine arrested last week after authorities say they attempted to sell millions of dollars worth of drugs to undercover police officers.
Florentino Cabrera-Sanchez, Roberto Sanchez-Mandujano and Sergio Gomez-Ramos of Gainesville all face drug and weapons charges after the Oct. 3 incident, said Cpl. Illana Spellman with Gwinnett County police.
Undercover officers made a drug deal with occupants of a home at 2621 Waverly Hills Drive, in a Lawrenceville subdivision off Herrington Road, Spellman said.
Police found 1 kilogram of black-tar heroin, 22 kilograms of cocaine and more than 270 pounds of marijuana, Spellman said.
She said the total street value of the drugs is about $3.7 million.
Police also found $13,000 in cash, five handguns and an SKS assault-style rifle. Spellman said police impounded six vehicles believed to be involved in the operation.
While there were many men with a large amount of drugs at the home, "I don’t think it was necessarily a (drug) ring," Spellman said.
The following men have also been charged: Miguel Serna-Figueroa and Raymundo Jesus Estrella-Coronado of Lawrenceville; Roberto Garcia-Ramos, Eleazar Penaloza-Ramos and Ruben Rios-Barajas of Norcross; and Melvin Roberto Sanchez-Nunez of Atlanta.
