Work  will resume Tuesday night on concrete repairs to Ga. 365 from Browns Bridge Road/Ga. 369 to Ga. 52 in North Hall.

The project will involve removing broken and cracked concrete and putting in new concrete along the 7.9-mile stretch.

Weather permitting, work is set to take place 6 p.m.-6 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8 p.m.-6 a.m. Fridays through Sundays. No lane closures will occur during the day.

The estimated cost is $2.2 million and completion is set for May 31.

Federal stimulus money is paying for the project.

“This project is routine maintenance work on a concrete roadway," said Randall Davis, district construction engineer with the Georgia Department of Transportation.

"It is similar to resurfacing an asphalt road. Crews will saw out the deteriorated sections of concrete and pour new concrete."
The concrete will harden and then that section will be reopened to traffic, Davis said.

"The contractor will use a specialized mix that hardens quickly,” he added.
