Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites is now accepting reservations at Don Carter State Park in North Hall County for cabins and camping.
Those interested can call 800-864-7275 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday or go online at www.gastateparks.org/DonCarter.
Reservations can be made 13 months in advance, to the day, and must be for at least a two-night stay. The maximum stay is 14 days.
The 1,316-acre park’s eight cabins rent for $110-$160 per day. One cottage can accommodate visitors who have up to two dogs, with a $45 fee per dog, and one cabin is handicapped-accessible.
Don Carter, which opened July 15 and is Hall County’s first state park, also has 46 RV camp sites, which rent from $25 to $29, and 12 primitive “walk-in” tent sites that rent at $15.
A dedication ceremony for Don Carter, which is at 5000 N. Browning Bridge Road, is set for Sept. 16.
