A Flowery Branch woman dissatisfied with repairs to her car pulled out her gun and started shooting, authorities said.

No one was hurt when 55-year-old Cathy J. Parks fired her small-caliber pistol five times into the air during an argument with the car repairman Thursday night, Hall County Sheriff’s Maj. Jeff Strickland said.

Strickland said Parks had repairs made to her car and it broke down as she was leaving a location in the 3500 block of Carter Road in South Hall.

She returned to the location shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday and confronted the 50-year-old man who made the repairs, Strickland said.

Parks did not point the pistol at the man, but after shooting off the gun, took off in his 1983 Ford Ranger, Strickland said.

She was located by deputies in the truck on Bristol Industrial Parkway and surrendered without incident. Authorities found the gun and spent shell casings in the truck, Strickland said.

Parks was charged with reckless conduct and theft by taking. She remains in the Hall County Jail with bond set at $6,000.
