A Dahlonega woman died this morning from injuries sustained in a vehicle wreck in Lumpkin County.

Wesley Burnett, public information officer for the Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office, said Erica Berry, 24, died after the wreck late Thursday night.

Georgia State Patrol responded to the accident on Mount Olive Church Road around 9:30 p.m.

Brandon Marcus, operator for the Georgia State Patrol's Gainesville Post, said the post was surprised to learn of Berry's death because the wreck was originally not classified as a serious injury accident.

"Apparently something happened during the night," Marcus said.

No information concerning the cause of the accident has been determined as it is still being investigated.

Funeral services for Berry are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.
