Riverside Military Academy rising senior Cadet Sergeant First Class Adam Stumpf received a scholarship from the National Security Language Initiative for Youth to study abroad in China this summer.
The National Security Language Initiative for Youth program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and provides merit-based scholarships for eligible high school students to learn less commonly taught languages in overseas immersion programs.
Stumpf will be given the opportunity to attend a program lasting several weeks and earn a minimum of 120 language class hours. He hopes to use this experience to serve as an officer in the U.S. Army, possibly with a career in marketing, and in mission work for his church.
