The Gainesville Phoenix Woman’s Club donated 20 handmade quilts to the Veterans Affairs hospital in Atlanta in recognition of Veterans Day. They presented the quilts to two volunteer services representatives, and a quilt was immediately delivered to a veteran headed to a chemotherapy treatment in the hospital. The women make up a local service club affiliated with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, an international organization dedicated to encouraging women to serve their local communities.
