James Floyd and Staci Vinton have been named to the Leadership Georgia class of 2017.

Floyd is vice president and partner of Turner, Wood & Smith, and Vinton is the owner/director of the Academy Child Development Center.

Leadership Georgia is a 45-year-old organization of community and state leaders affiliated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. It trains and builds a network of emerging young leaders from across the state.

Past participants include former University of Georgia football coach and athletic director Vince Dooley and former U.S. Sen. Sam Nunn.

Each year, the program selects 63 participants from hundreds of applicants. Class members visit five Georgia communities in a yearlong exchange of ideas and experiences about important issues affecting the state.

This year’s class will travel to Braselton, Brasstown Valley, Jesup, Jekyll Island and Perry.
