Jody Cooley, a partner at Hulsey, Oliver, and Mahar LLP, has withdrawn from the firm to join the legal department at Wayne Farms LLC as associate general counsel.
Wayne Farms, whose corporate headquarters are in Hall County, is the sixth-largest vertically integrated poultry company in the United States, with 9,000 employees working across 11 plants in five Southeastern states.
Hulsey, Oliver and Mahar has provided legal services to clients in Northeast Georgia for more than 100 years, and the firm has represented Wayne Farms for more than 50 years.
Cooley has worked closely with the company on a variety of legal matters over the years, and it is that experience which made him an attractive candidate for his new role, according to Wayne Farms Assistant Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Jeremy Kilburn.
While Cooley will be starting in his new position in the coming month, he will continue to assist the firm as needed to ensure a smooth transition for all firm clients.
