About 625 customers in the Green Street and Park Hill Drive areas of Gainesville were without power for a period of time Friday afternoon.

Power was restored by 3:30 p.m., Georgia Power officials said.

Scott Cagle with Hall County Fire Services said a tree was down in the area.

Initially, the outage affected about 1,750 customers. Power was to be rerouted so it could be restored to all customers except for those closest to the problem, Georgia Power spokesman John Kraft said.

Georgia Power officials were trying to determine the cause of the outage.
