Braselton mother and son charged with drug, gun possession

A Braselton mother and her son have been charged with multiple gun and drug charges.

Jason Lamar McDaniel, 35, and his mother, Clara Christine McDaniel, 55, were arrested Feb. 8 after Hall County MANS Task Force officers conducted a search, assisted by the Georgia National Guard Counterdrug Task Force at a home in the 5000 block of Old Winder Highway.

Both live in the home, Lt. Don Scalia of Hall County Sheriff’s Office MANS Unit said.

Jason McDaniel was charged with sale and intent to distribute oxycodone and lorazepam, as well as possession of alprazolam and clonazepam with intent to distribute.

He was also charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon.

Clara McDaniel was charged with sale and intent to distribute oxycodone and intent to distribute alprazolam.

She was also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Officers found 228 oxycodone pills, 94 alprazolam pills, 34 lorazepam pills, 11 clonazepam pills, totaling about $9,800 in street value.

They also confiscated digital scales, drug paraphernalia, three rifles, two shotguns, two handguns and $2,513 in cash.

Both were arrested without incident and were booked into Hall County Jail.
