Electricians Brandon Thompson, right, and Caleb Segers of Engineered Openings Inc. of Alto, install low voltage wiring Tuesday morning inside the new obstetrics unit at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton.
A digital clock ticks down the seconds to the opening of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton’s much-anticipated labor and delivery unit, while crews are working on remaining touches. And work has been going so well lately that hospital officials have announced the 10-unit obstetrics unit will now open Sept. 12 instead of in October as originally expected. “We’re excited to offer mothers due in September the option of delivering here in Braselton,” said Anthony Williamson, president of the South Hall hospital.
