A 2-year-old boy was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital today after being scalded at home, officials said.

The boy sustained second-degree burns to the torso and arms and was being flown to Grady Memorial Hospital, Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said.

The incident occurred about 3:30 p.m. at Baker and Glover Mobile Home Park off Ga. 129. The boy’s grandmother was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with minor burns, Kimbrell said.

The cause of the burns was under investigation by fire and sheriff’s officials but is believe to be accidental.
