A family of four was displaced Thursday morning after a fire charred their northeastern Forsyth home, officials said.

The blaze occurred about 9:15 a.m. at 5320 Valley Drive, off Parks Road.

Forsyth County Fire Capt. Jason Shivers said no one was in the mobile home at the time. The American Red Cross was called to help the family.

"The fire damage was contained to two rooms, the living room and the kitchen, with smoke damage throughout the home," said Shivers, adding that it likely will result in a total loss.

He said the cause and origin of the fire are under investigation, but the blaze does not appear suspicious.
