Six train cars derailed Friday, Oct. 21, in Gainesville, shutting down two Gainesville midtown streets, police said.

Gainesville Police Lt. Kevin Holbrook said a service train derailed around 4 p.m. Friday.

Bradford Street Extension and Hancock Avenue are closed until further notice, police said.

Holbrook said the Hancock clean up will take hours, while Bradford Street Extension will be closed for days.

No injuries were reported.
