Badge & Bar: Gainesville councilwoman may testify in murder case

A Gainesville councilwoman is one of four names on a witness list from the defendant’s public defender in a murder case. Myrtle Figueras, who has served on the City Council since December 1996, was listed with three character witnesses in the case of Leshan Tremiele Tanner, 42, of Gainesville. Tanner and Rodnie Maurice Stokes, 27, were indicted Sept. 23 in the death of Cedric Antonio Huff.
