A Murrayville man allegedly pushed a woman down, broke a closet door off the hinges and threw it at two kids, according to authorities.
Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 to Bark Camp Road regarding a domestic incident.
The deputies determined a 38-year-old man allegedly “grabbed a woman by her arm in the home and pushed her down,” Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks wrote in an email.
“(The man) also broke a closet door off of its hinges and threw it at two (8-year-old) children in the residence,” Wilbanks said.
No discernible injuries were reported.
The man was charged with criminal trespass, simple battery and two counts of first-degree child cruelty.
He is being held at the Hall County Jail on a $21,700 bond.
The case is still under investigation.
Police: Suspects manipulate coin machine; less than $400 missing
Gainesville Police said less than $400 was missing after machines manipulated a coin machine at a Gainesville car wash.
Officers took the larceny report Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Jolly Rogers Buggy Shine on Cleveland Highway.
“It appears that unknown suspects manipulated a coin machine overnight between 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. … at a car wash,” Cpl. Jessica Van wrote in an email.
Less than $400 was missing from the machine, Van said.
The corporal said the investigation is active and police “will release more information as it becomes available.”
Man accused of throwing bags of meth out of window while fleeing traffic stop
Oakwood Police found roughly 36 grams of meth that been thrown onto the roadway while pursuing a man who drove off from a traffic stop, according to authorities.
An officer attempted to stop the man Tuesday, Aug. 6, in a white Chevrolet Trailblazer with an improper license plate in the Mundy Mill Road area.
The driver drove westbound on Mundy Mill Road while the officer pursued him.
“As the vehicle traveled northbound on Thurmon Tanner Parkway, (the man) discarded bags of methamphetamine from the suspect vehicle. In the area of Thurmon Tanner Parkway and Frontage Road, (the man) stopped his vehicle and surrendered to the pursuing officer,” Investigator Todd Templeton wrote in a news release.
The man was charged with trafficking and possession of meth with intent to distribute, tampering with evidence, obstruction of law enforcement and multiple traffic-related offenses.
The man was taken to the Hall County Jail, where he remains without a bond.
Police: Five company vehicles entered at building supply store
Five company vehicles at a Gainesville building supply store were entered and had more than $1,000 of items stolen, police said.
Gainesville Police took the report Monday, Aug. 5 at Builders First Source on West Ridge Road. The burglary happened between 6 p.m. Aug. 2 and 5:50 a.m. Aug. 5.
“Preliminary investigation determined that approximately 5 company vehicles were entered and miscellaneous items were taken from inside the vehicles,” Cpl. Jessica Van wrote in an email.
Less than $1,200 in electronics, tools, equipment and more were missing, Van said.
There is no information on suspects at this time, and the investigation is active.
