Hall County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a Lula man Wednesday after they say he intentionally hit another man with his vehicle.

Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks with the sheriff's office said a 45-year-old man was walking Tuesday along Cobb Street in Lula when he was hit in the left leg by a red Chevrolet HHR.

Witnesses told police the driver was Jeremy Yopp, 34. Deputies found the vehicle near Yopp's residence just inside Banks County, with damage consistent to the crime, Wilbanks said.

Yopp was arrested at his home without incident and booked into the Hall County Jail. He was charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats.

The victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he was treated for lower leg injuries.

The sheriff's office, Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.
