A Hall County man is accused of entering an elderly woman’s South Hall home and stealing her purse at gunpoint Tuesday, as well as illegally entering multiple vehicles at nearby residences.
He is also accused of stealing a Mercedes and burglary at multiple residences last week in Gillsville. The Mercedes was recovered in Gwinnett County on Monday night.
Brandon James Allison, 25, was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery, burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, elder abuse and entering auto following the incident in the 5300 block of Thompson Mill Road in Braselton.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Allison fled on foot into nearby woods after taking the purse from the woman, who was home by herself. The woman wasn’t injured.
“Deputies quickly established a perimeter and deployed a K9 team,” Deputy Stephen Wilbanks wrote in a news release. “And the suspect was apprehended without incident a short time later.”
Wilbanks said additional charges may be pending, and Allison also had outstanding arrest warrants in Hall, White and Jackson counties before the incident.
Braselton Police are investigating additional reports of entering automobiles that could be connected to the incident.
Both the Hall Sheriff’s Office and Braselton Police will continue to investigate the case.
