A Gainesville man is accused of “inappropriate contact” with a 5-year-old child, according to authorities.

Quentin Scott Galt, 38, was arrested Thursday on an outstanding warrant for child molestation.

“The warrant was taken after an investigation into an incident that occurred in March 2017, where Galt is accused of having inappropriate contact with a 5-year-old child,” Hall County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Stephen Wilbanks said in a news release.

Galt was booked in to the Hall County Jail and was released on a bond.

An attempt to reach Galt for comment was unsuccessful.

Wilbanks said evidence was presented to the district attorney’s office before warrants were obtained by the investigator.

“There was evidence that was gathered that had to be tested at the GBI labs. They had to wait for the results to come back from that, and because of the child’s age, they had to do a full forensic interview,” Wilbanks said.

Authorities did not disclose the gender of the child.
