A Gainesville man accused of stealing a woman’s car and robbing her of other items in February was extradited from Panama City, Florida, last week, according to authorities.

Qwamane Shalone Hayes, 25, was brought to Hall County Friday and booked in to the Hall County Jail.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Ware said Hayes entered a home Feb. 26 on East Ridge Road in Gainesville.

“Hayes held the victims at gunpoint, robbing the female victim of her wallet, cellphone, debit card, laptop computer as well as her car,” Ware said.

Ware said Hayes also beat a man on the head and forearm with the gun, fracturing the man’s forearm and lacerating his head. The man then drove off in the woman’s Volkswagen Passat, according to authorities.

Ware said the car was found in Jacksonville, Florida, shortly after the robbery.

Investigators took out warrants on Hayes March 2. He is also charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and theft by taking.

He also had a probation warrant from Superior Court and State Court.
