Authorities charge man in Braselton rape

A woman told police she was beaten and raped, according to a Braselton Police report.

Emmanuel Kevin Harris, 27, was charged with rape, misdemeanor battery and second-degree criminal damage to property.

According to the warrant, Harris is accused of “kicking in two doors in her apartment without her consent resulting in approximately $1,000 in damages.”

Harris was booked Tuesday in to the Hall County Jail, where he remains.

An investigator met with the victim and family on Sept. 17, according to an assault report.

“There was bruising to the left side of her face,” according to the report.

The warrants also say that Harris is accused of “punching her, dragging her through the residence, scratching her and striking her causing a black eye, bruising, scratches and abrasions requiring medical attention” during a dispute.

According to the report, the woman and Harris were acquainted.
