Drug enforcement agents seized more than $400,000 in marijuana and mushrooms Tuesday after a 911 hang-up in Clarkesville.
When Habersham County Sheriff’s Office deputies came to Alec Mountain Road, they reportedly saw Nicholas Green, 35, slam the back door.
Deputies executed a search warrant and reportedly found 25 marijuana plants, 23 half-gallon Mason jars filled with marijuana and one half-gallon Mason jar full of mushrooms, according to the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office.
“Green had supplies used in a marijuana grow operation in a box beside the plants,” the drug enforcement office wrote in a news release. “Green had recently moved into this house.”
The estimated street value of the drugs is $408,600.
Authorities seized $660, multiple rifles, a (12-gauge) shotgun and a .22 caliber handgun, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Mitchell Posey wrote in an email.
Green was charged with manufacturing and possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute and possessing a schedule I narcotic. He was transported to the Habersham County Detention Center.
